Any word on what Lee Morgan material will be in a box set? One of my absolute top Blue Note albums is Search for a New Land but almost every one of his albums is killer, regardless of whether it is hard-bop or post-bop. Many many years ago I was working in a record store and an OG of Candy came...

Misty and Midnight Sugar are the workhorses of TBM. I see at least 56 different issues between the two titles. They sell very well because they appeal to the jazz purist.

I do not know the sourcing on the Project Re: Vinyl series but I have not been disappointed by any of them so far.

Well overdue for another reissue. Originals are impossible to find.

Maybe Black Jazz had a radio station strategy with producing so many promos. Sales never quite caught up and there was a lot of cut-out and sealed stock left around even in the 90s when I started collecting. Even now, it is weird how many sealed Black Jazz albums are still out there.

Interestingly, I've seen more promo copies of this record than regular copies of this record. Killer album.

Very special find indeed. I've been after this for years myself with no luck. Last copy I saw for sale was listed for a crazy price.

As I understand it, licensing some of this work is super complicated because of Japanese intellectual property law but it looks like whatever was holding up a repress was sorted out. That is great news because this was getting crazy on the secondary market.

I thought I read that Chad Kassem hated Alice Coltrane so this is interesting to see.

Just consider some Discogs stats: 163 claim to have the original (myself included) 913 have the 2007 reissue, 2000+ have the limited 1/2 speed master from 2018 (myself included), and 3000+ have the regular 2018 issue! Those are insane numbers for a piano trio record from outside the USA.

I am almost in disbelief but Discogs released its top selling lps of 2021 and Ryo Fukui's Scenery was listed as number 22. https://blog.discogs.com/en/best-selling-records-on-discogs-in-2021/?utm_source=Homepage&utm_medium=Discogs&utm_campaign=Top_50_2021_12_18 The jazz revival continues to...

This whole concept makes me want to open my own Kissa here in the United States. As for the Takeru and Kikuchi reissues, no doubt the originals were going for far less a few years ago but those days are past. I doubt they will ever return, though some prices might come down a bit after this...

I agree on Gentle Rain. I would love for someone to sort the Yosuke releases by order of importance so I could sip the juice. I have Umbrella Dance and it is good, but a little too far out for my taste. I prefer a post-bop, modal or in/out jazz.

I highly recommend this release. Really, one of his best and not at all easy to obtain in the original. I was told that it would have been reissued but for licensing issues, but it looks like those got sorted out.

Where does this rumor come from? It seems improbable to me that MMJ will repress the 33 rpms since Blue Note has expanded into this area with both Tone Poet and the Classic series. I guess they have SRX but does anyone want to deal with those drops again? Worst experience of my life. Retail...
