Probably true, but what's curious to me, is that they seem to have at least tried to accurately replicate the back cover. So it doesn't really seem like the Dexter Gordon situation where they were probably supplied with image files of a CD reissue. They probably had an original to work with and...

Albert King was Craft Recordings as well and also has Made in E.U. on the back. Strange. I was certain these were all printed at Stoughton (Sister Rosetta confirmed).

In case anyone cares, here's some more info on the release date. Potentially released as early as May 1969. Text on page 3: The 27 albums are illustrated on pages 18 & 19 (four of which are VMP selections). Supposedly this was referred to as the Stax "sales blitz."...

To add to this list: C002 - John Lee Hooker - The colors of the spine are completely different than the typical Impulse spine. Maybe the original was like this (can't find a reference image), but I find that hard to believe. C008 - Max Roach - Has an "Inspected By..." stamp on the back cover.

Just follow the chart here. Africa by Amanaz is probably the most well-known and popular. Shadoks reissued a bunch of these in the late 2000s, which kind of started the zamrock revival.
