    zZounds Music sent me a 2nd keyboard after sending me the wrong item the first time. I was only billed once; it seems they don't actually realize they sent it twice. I'll start the year off with good karma, do the right thing and let them know.

    Does anyone here own the Lennon 9LP boxset? I see it on Amazon for 153 bucks but wow, the 1 star reviews all mention multiple skips, even on replacements.

    Only thing is that Amazon is probably easier to get a refund/return if you are worried about defects! the discogs reviews seemed to be better than what was on amazon i think?

    Pretty disappointed in Zzounds Music. I ordered a Roland synth, received an empty Epiphone guitar case instead. Just a small difference of about 850 bucks. They say I'll get the keyboard sometime next week. Funny, I got the wrong item in two days.

    In an attempt to make something good out of a bad situation, would you have any recommendations for online synth/keyboard courses? I got a Yamaha and am looking to loosely pick it up. I took lessons way back when, but nothing stuck (at least off the top of my head).

    @Melt Face Molly Drop Ha, well, I'm a drummer with no real keyboard experience. But I've been branching out with the bass player I work with and we've been making all kinds of our own strange music...I had been using the sounds in Logic Pro, tapping it out on the laptop keyboard, but wanted to expand my world. So I'm actually going to be looking into the same thing!

    Nice! Let me know if you find anything particularly helpful. I was mostly looking to recreate familiar songs/sounds, but turns out trying to memorize keys is quite the process. Probably would help if I had some sort of foundation first.

    I had an item marked shipped, in transit on November 13th. Told the online store it was lost, they sent a replacement which got to me two weeks ago. Then that original package finally showed up out of the blue last Friday 😵‍💫

    I hate the redundancy of ending sentences with "at." "Where are you"is a complete sentence, no need to add "at" to the end. But alas, it just doesn't matter. Allegedly.

    Oh my, that new Kid Rock rock video is....well, I guess just what you'd expect. And then some. The only reason I watched it was because Weird Al tweeted that it wasn't in fact him doing a parody.

    Maybe I'm old and grumpy...but our HR person (who is also my bosses mother-in-law) having her sick 7 year old grandkid twins show up for lunch at my workplace is very annoying to me. So much coughing.

    @GritNGlitter I can see that as a problem these days. It would be prudent to keep sick kids away from employees who could catch it and need time off themselves, reducing productivity and profitability.

    It would be! Employers should provide adequate paid time off for their own employees' illnesses and unexpected obligations, and not punish employees for using them. Alas, we're far from that.

    @GritNGlitter - I'd be ok with a circumstantial situation where the twins needed somewhere to be for a little bit. It is a 'family' company after all. But the case here is a little different; these twins come for lunch almost weekly. I just think, hey, if they are sick, maybe we skip your McDonald's lunch party this week.

    Has anybody here ever used Ticketsonsale to acquire concert tickets? I just did for a show in March...and for some reason I have an uneasy feeling. Maybe it's all the 'this is a scam' comments in their reviews. But the venue linked to them, so I assumed they were trustworthy.

    FWIW, that happens all the time to pretty much everyone. Third party sellers are VERY good at SEO/Sponsored Ads in Google that outrank venues. I saw this happen hundreds of times. It'll likely be fine, just have your contingency plan ready if it goes sour. Good luck!

    fwiw, if it turns out you were sold a ticket that doesn't actually work, you're definitely entitled to a refund no matter what their FAQ says...small consolation since you wouldn't know for sure until after you tried to use it to get into the show and couldn't, but something to keep in mind!

    Coming to or around Detroit in the next few months - Khruangbin, War on Drugs, BBNG, Courtney Barnett, Shakey Graves, All Them Witches, Monophonics. I have to catch at least a couple of these...still haven't been to a show since Feb of 2020.

    This is a pretty great set, and as mentioned above that udiscover price is hard to beat.

    I missed one udiscover sale earlier in the year when it sold out, they had it back in stock for the next one. As I understand it udiscover is basically the direct distributor so thats why the price is so good. I fully support local dealers as well! And one bonus of going that route, the ud packing was pretty sketchy, I was surprised it arrived safely tbh.

    Take a good walk, a long warm shower or bath, read a book, no computers, tv's , phones, blue light, Black out your sleeping area, keep a fan running, and relax. WATCH THE CAFFEINE and none after lunch! Do not eat too late before bed. Ask your Doc if you can take a Benedryl before bedtime to help with drowsiness. All else fails ask your doc for sleep lab and discuss what might be causing the issues with loved ones.

    I'm glad you slept better last night, but, if you ever get stuck again, another tip that I've found works surprisingly well is to get in bed and use a little reverse psychology. Trying to stay awake is much more effective in knocking me out than trying to fall asleep. Seriously, try it sometime.

    @Ericj32 - yeah, I definitely understand that. Funny, some nights I can't stay awake past midnight when I try...but other nights I feel allergic to sleep.

    No recent pre-orders placed, no records on the porch in the last few weeks, no trips to any of my locals in months. I'm not even in the monthly spin challenge. Just not feeling it lately...it happens, right? Vinyl diet?
