Could any other employee do that and get no push-back?

@djdavedk - it's a strange dynamic here. People just kind of do what they can get away with. One guy brings his dog in all day once a week. Small company, small set of rules I guess. I was thinking maybe I'd have a beer at my desk every Wednesday at 3 pm until they ask me to stop.

@djdavedk Sick and otherwise out-of-school kids do go to work with parents (usually mothers) fairly often. I've been a bored kid at work, but only for a few hours at a time. I've seen people's kids at our family businesses, in the break room or closed sections at restaurants, in personal offices, etc. Last minute childcare is a real difficulty for a lot of people.
