Over the years I traded in most of my pricey records for that reason. I figured they were worth more to someone else. In retrospect, I wish I had held on to that OG Electric Ladyland.
i only really said this because we did get a couple of genres that were kinda similar... specifically tortoise and mark de clive lowe were both more experimental jazz.Debatable
the question is how much longer do you think the club will lastBut the add-ons are going to be $10 more. I definitely won't be getting all the R&HH ROTM's now, only ones I am super keen to grab!
It does make me more lucky to have free membership because I know I'd still be a member, even with this increase in pricing. So I'm very fortunate to be getting any ROTM free + being a member!
I think they will at least last another year. I am not certain about the branding though. I'm not sure if the company will be called Vinyl Me, Please anymore within the next 6 months! But yes, I think VMP will be around for a long time, despite all the controversies they have.the question is how much longer do you think the club will last
Oh My God, WOW! That's incredible!!! ❤Fun fact: My fiancé and I actually met Frank Ocean at like 2AM on a summer night in SoHo New York, we were walking down a block on our way to the subway and there was only another person on our block walking towards us so naturally I sized up anybody walking around alone at 2AM and it turned out to be Frank. I turned to my fiancé as he was passing us and said
me: “That’s Frank Ocean”
Her: “No it’s not. I know what Frank Ocean looks like!”
Me: “Apparently you don’t cause that’s 100% Frank Ocean...”
She then turned on her heel and took off full sprint after him down the block. She stopped him and said “Oh my god, you’re Frank Ocean!” to which he didn’t seem to know how to respond to this observant little sprite. We then went on a diatribe about how much he meant to us, she gave him a big hug, I shook his hand, we asked “When’s the album coming?” He said “Very soon actually!” and we parted ways, Blond ending up coming out a few months later! He was wonderfully nice and tolerant considering we mobbed on him at 2 in the morning, a bit awkward as I was expecting. Overall a really awesome memory!
This is an interesting question I don't know if I could even begin to answerWhat's your top 3 albums of the 2010's?
This. Finally snagging that banger new Dehd album and the Steve and Teresa record for Bandcamp Friday. This is a good thing. Stop giving this joke of a company your hard earned money, or soft earned. I don’t know what you do. And just take the money and directly support the artist or your local store.
Also, make sure you hit up bandcamp tomorrow and take some of that cancel money and support your favorite artist or discover a new one.
The Beastie Boys Reissues are all Pretty great.audiophile hip hop reissues are completely ignored and its not like VMP really does a great job there either...
the highest level pressing they did for one was slowthai since it was pressed by QRP, and besides that snoop dogg sounded fantastic... i want a hip hop title pressed on a high quality record... give us 2pac or kanye or the beastie boys on a high quality pressing (like how KSG is on RTI)
I think MOFI has Run DMC coming out next month. The Beastie Boys Reissues are all Pretty great.
the one that VMP did btw so if im not gonna spend 20 bucks on them i wont spend 50 dollarsI think MOFI has Run DMC coming out next month.
You said audiophile hip hop is completely ignored, I’m just pointing out that an all time classic is getting the mofi treatment.the one that VMP did btw so if im not gonna spend 20 bucks on them i wont spend 50 dollars
This is a wildly good point! And one that I hadn’t considered.sadly the hard part of those saying "just get mofis and AP instead"... i mean sure they have some very quality stuff but not everyone is going to want the henry belafonte and classical and jazz a lot of AP does.. and im not BIG on a lot of the classic rock that mofi does beyond dylan
VMP did pressings of popular records for people like me more into trendier art and more modern picks
I would go with:What's your top 3 albums of the 2010's?
