The mono S/T Doors LP was in the box set remastered by Grundman from hires digital, and is excellent. I simply can't see why another kick at The Doors is what the world needs. That's stereo though, this VMP one is a mono mix.

I'm just mostly curious about this whole "2 LP" thing. It's gotta be the 7" I think but..... Maybe the 50th Anniversary live disc? The mono S/T Doors LP was in the box set remastered by Grundman from hires digital, and is excellent. Yeah except the wording on the website, haha oh shit they changed it. It used to read "Our 2LP 180 gram pressing comes with a seven inch..." They deleted the 2 LP part some time in the last couple hours or so... So yes, single LP with seven inch...Pretty clear from what I read. Single LP with a 4 track EP, which was common in France back in the day. Looks like they just grabbed the 2017 Deluxe Edition playlist off Spotify without realizing it had all those live tracks (which really don't add anything anyways).
swap for credit and use that for darkside? just a thought, if you don't want to re-up completely for what's coming down the pike....Lots of interesting stuff among those 12 announced records, but the only thing I'm really excited about is Darkside, which falls right after my grandfathered subscription price ends. Decisions, decisions....
And as an addendum, new OG copies are still readily available from bricks and motar stores. Just sayin’Just a PSA for everyone.. That Darkside album is on a zillion "must have on vinyl" lists. I have the 2 LP 45 Optimal press and the mastering is fucking STUNNING. It came in printed paper sleeves and mine has way too many pops for my liking as a result, but I cannot stress how incredible it sounds, and I'm assuming (hopefully) that they won't use a new master or at least won't screw up the OG vinyl master. So if you haven't heard it before. Get comfortable, turn the lights out, and sit back and soak it in. It's fantastic.
And if you want to get right to the good stuff, start with side 2...

Agreed, but did you see the part where I said they're pretty poppy due to the sleeves? BECAUSE THEY ARE PRETTY POPPY DUE TO THE SLEEVES. I'd rather not buy this again but honestly I need a clean copy. And as an addendum, new OG copies are still readily available from bricks and motar stores. Just sayin’
Oh I love the opening track too, I just kinda meant for people testing the waters, go right to the kick-ass tracks instead of the slow building opener.Totally agree - Although I love Golden Arrow. So for me starts on a high.
Pressing is extremely good, which I suppose gives VMP a great chance of getting it right. Im almost tempted to try and purchase a copy from someone if i can - Packaging should be good and my copy for whatever reason is showing a lot more signs of wear and tear than most others i have. For no obvious mishandling reasons.
The new Sophie's Choice: an Optimal pressing but in paper sleeve or a GZ pressing in lord knows what. Choose wisely young manAgreed, but did you see the part where I said they're pretty poppy due to the sleeves? BECAUSE THEY ARE PRETTY POPPY DUE TO THE SLEEVES. Yeah that's the thing, these will likely also come in printed paper sleeves as well.. But I don't have any VMP pressings that are this poppy outside of maybe one a couple of years ago... But yes, this is true. But also also, I went through 3 Optimal copies and they were all poppy. So it wasn't just the one copy. The new Sophie's Choice: an Optimal pressing but in paper sleeve or a GZ pressing in lord knows what. Choose wisely young man
And the vinyl mastering is perfect (assuming they use the same master)Listening to Darkside for the very first time and this is some Extremely Good Shit™

Yeah that would be great !Want me to grab one for you?
The OG is still for sale via Matador for $20. I just purchased that plus Kurt Vile’s recent EP for less than a single VMP monthly sub...And the vinyl mastering is perfect (assuming they use the same master)
No probs. I'll add another sub when they release it and will give you a shout when it gets here to sort addresses. Easy!Yeah that would be great !
Cheers
