There’s a lot of amazing jazz albums from 1964 but I have a feeling we are going to get an underwhelming (Willie Bobo-like) type of pick. Hopefully not. I do think it will be something different like a vocal jazz album. My pick is Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Johnny Mercer Songbook.

Looks like Sextant has only been reissued on MOV. Although I'm pretty happy with my original so I'm not really wishing for that one. I don't know if any of the albums from that era have gotten the AAA audiophile treatment besides Headhunters, have they?

My comment was mostly based on the fact that dollar bin albums aren't my favorite picks for ROTMs, fwiw. Although, I do prefer his earlier output.

This is the most frustratingly confusing sentence ever. Like really, size has nothing to do with how hard to answer it is. He clearly knows every label that he's worked with for classics.
