Day 02: Coloring Book Day - Play an album that uses a unique adjective to describe its color.

To your untrained eye this may appear to be green you would however be mistaken. This is “ombré” colored wax. The term in this day and age is usually applied to hair color and it is the blending of one color hue into another. To actually understand why the color description is listed as ombré is that this process was applied to the full 4K run of this pressing meaning each LP is slightly different as the colors are blended for each album.

Day 3 : Third Releases

Third releases are interesting especially for artists who look to refine their work. I was genuinely surprised, when looking, how many of my faves are third albums. I landed on Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion, her third full length after Tug of War and Kiss. It still slays and is a needed Monday pick me up

Toad the Wet Sprocket - fear

This is the album that made me a Toad fan back in 1991, and features two of their biggest hits - Walk on the Ocean and All I Want. It also happens to be a fantastic album front to back and features some amazing album art.

Man, there's lots of artists withgreat third albums!

I was going to pick Talking Heads' Fear of Music but, it would be an obvious pick (for me).

So I'm going with FNM's third album (and first with Mike Patton)

This just arrived today. The color is described as "Sticky Icky." I have not played the board game, yet. :)

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain

Andy was really worried about someone stealing this record. Not only did he write his name smack in the middle of the front cover, but on the inside of the gatefold and on the label. I'll never know if it worked for him or not.

I went back to the Doors Singles box for this one...

The Doors - “People Are Strange” b/w “Unhappy Girl”

The 3rd single they ever released (after “Break On Through” and “Light My Fire”), their first #1 hit in Canada and one of only two singles in that box set to come in a picture sleeve!
