I threatened to send them back a busted up record on my dime if they didn’t fix my issue because ya know seam splits are just something that happens sometimes.To be fair did they EVER accept returns? I've only ever gotten replacements or full refunds.
Definitely just push back. I've had my fair share of VMP issues in the past year or so when I was a member and if you are respectful but push back and say that's not an acceptable solution to your issue, they will likely make it better. The only worry I'd have is that Sahara got oversold I think so not sure what the status is on replacement copies right now.
