Agreed. The fact that it has never had an official reissue on vinyl is criminal.
If this were an VMP release I think it would bring in a huge number of new subscribers & sell out instantly.
I was having a similar thought myself: for a club who started off with mostly indie-type fare to be pressing AAA albums of this calibre from original mono tapes etc is pretty damn impressive.
I have A LOT of VMP records in my collection since joining for Demon Days in Spring of 2017 but over...
Off the top of my head, as I’m at work:
Nick Cave - The Boatman’s Call
Toots & the Maytals - Sweet & Dandy
The Upsetters - Eastwood Rides Again
Desmond Dekker - Action!
Shina Williams - African Dances
There are loads more I’ve picked up over the past 5 years….including De La Soul Is Dead, all...
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I’m listening to it on my way to work & just grabbed a copy with store credit.
There appears to be at least one more copy available….so I’d like to second Nathan’s recommendation. It’s excellent & it seems as if this is the only reissue of the unique...
I pondered it for a couple of days but each listen on YouTube pushed me closer to buying it & last night I finally did.
My credit card isn’t pleased but my ears will be forever thankful.
Great news!
How long have you been a member?
I just checked my account & see no offer like this; it simply says my next payment is due 1st September & will be $499.
I’m happy to be getting a mono pressing of The Doors’ debut album - more so than most of the Essentials picks from the past year - it may be an obvious pick for a classic rock album, but that’s because it truly is a classic.
Vinyl reissues of Daft Punks Homework (£34.99!) & Alive 1997 were announced today; I hope VMP will have some variant as exclusives, or at least sell some of the normal ones - like they did with Spiritualized this week - as it’ll most likely be cheaper for U.K. subscribers with free shipping.
