Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

With Storfs cryptic Bucket List tweet a few weeks back and the artist appearing twice in the RHH track leads me to believe we're getting Saba - The Bucket List Project
I think this is a good call, and there are a ton of reasons why it makes sense (recent repress of CFM, silly money for bucket list on discogs, etc.), but I'm having trouble figuring out how that tracks with the first clue.

It looks like Saba was 22 when that was released?

Clues:

HH: 20, 25, 31
HH: 1, 2, 5 (or 4, depending)
HH: One of the artists is appearing in this Track for the second time.

“Group” would lead me to believe it’s not Saba.

also other hints that blatantly imply its not that (saba is was 22 when he made the album and 26 now so he does not fix the 20,25,31 clue if it is related to age)... i am guessing number 2 is outkast now.. ATLiens was released in 1996.. 25 years ago.. and de la is 3 members
Highly doubt it's Outkast or DeLa as they've both been in both Essentials and RHH already. Can't see them going back a third time so soon...

But yes and yes.
they said this is the first time a group is on a track twice

its ATLiens

I'm guessing august is sex packets.. the solo album from 01 is a mystery (missy elliot, Jay Z, or aesop rock would be great gets)

Yes, but my point is this would be the THIRD time either of those groups would be an album of the month. Technically it's still correct as they were both each in Essentials and RHH. It just seems unlikely they'd go back to the well a third time so soon after Stankonia BUT, it's cool, I've got the Newbury press of it but I'm sure this one would sound better...

its storf

what did you expect

its the only one that fits a group that is 2 or 4 (maybe 5) members that is going to be featured twice from 1996

Honestly my best part of this being ATliens would mean the whole "no repeating artists in tracks" thing is over. I enjoyed it at first and how it helped variety, but I definitely think it shouldnt be a hard and fast rule. And as a Country fan, it gives me hope we can maybe see some more picks from some of the big guns that they are blowing through in the early months.

but it also means we could just be saturated with like 5 artists that they know will be big sellers instead of the intense variety.. this has to be a VERY special exception

I agree. I’m happy to say goodbye to that rule. Give me a Miles Davis record that isn’t Sorcerer, please. I love it, but damn, there are so many other Miles records I’d rather have out of the Essentials track.

Of course, but I highly doubt they'd go from one extreme to the other that quickly. Just not ruling out the possibility of a repeat.
