Pre-Order Thread

Went for the indie exclusive St. Vincent from Bullmoose. They haven’t been as…reliable as they used to be lately. But here we go

Sharon Van Etten - epic Ten

"LP1 is the original epic.

LP2 is epic covered by Big Red Machine, IDLES, Lucinda Williams, Shamir, Courtney Barnett feat. Vagabon, St. Panther & Fiona Apple."

The fuck is the difference between cool white and warm white vinyl color?

Looks like the warm is sold out though.

Also the Secretly Soceity record of the Month for May.

Been a huge fan of edIT for a long time since his days on Planet Mu - not so much into his group Glitch mob but I always dig his original stuff.
Limited to 750 preorder here for those who are interested!

color difference is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but the VMP version is 180g with an alternate cover
180g doesn't really matter though. It doesn't make the record sound any better. Where it's pressed and who cut it is more important. I have only seen that the VMP is pressed at Furnace but no idea where the others are pressed.

I’ve been seeing 180g marketed lately as “audiophile” and while I agree it’s a gimmick for sound initially, it would/should technically last longer if you play the hell out of it vs. a 120g record.

St. Vincent 8 track..... nah that's just straight up unnecessary

Limited to 500. This is the kind of thing that will probably end up going for like $1000 in the future

Explain this logic.

The grooves would wear out either way, it's not the thickness that creates the sound.

I have a lot of real floppy light-weight records from the 70s/80s and a lot of them sound incredible and have lasted this long! As @djdavedk said, the grooves wear, not the thickness of the record.

Incorrect. That is straight up awesome. 8 Track is probably the next defunct format that will make a comeback. A little surprised she didn't do a reel to reel version.

If 8 track makes any sort of resurgence, I swear I'm building myself a time ⏲️ machine 😄
