Biggest issue with Soul Food is that it's 45RPM (yay) but the label says 33RPM making it easy to forget when you first drop the needle.

Unless they fixed that with the repress.

In terms of VMP issues, I'll take this one over the rest any day!

I'm kinda sad I missed that train. Definitely the most entertaining and harmless VMP issue I've seen.

I signed back up last month and started on essentials but quickly changed to RHH thinking they'd probably find a way to mess this up! Hasn't happened yet but if history taught us anything....

Also, anyone have thoughts on the quality of pressing on Soul Food!?

The first pressing of Soul Food had a lot of warps. On both discs. I've not seen any issues with the second press though. It sounds quite good. The same way most of the RHH stuff sounds pretty good with the GZ remasters.

Wild. I guess ya never know with Amazon. I have the 2009 pressing and my copy sounds fantastic.

If you have solid yellow labels you have the 2009 pressing the OG has light pink “LaFace” script patterned on them.

They look almost identical from the outside, in fact I think they are totally identical. But don't worry, the 2009 sounds great either way.

The photos on Discogs, the 1998 and 2009 have the same hype sticker so it can be confusing obviously you can check the runout info as well but the album labels are a pretty easy way to tell.

Yeah, so far sounds fantastic. One of my favourite's...weird it took me so long to snag a copy.
