Oh man, they seem to have deleted it. What did they put?Go look at VMPs story on Erroll Garner. Looks like their social media person thinks he’s Otis Redding
They had their artist spotlight in their stories as they typically do when they announce the ROTMs and they always include some info about the album with a snippet of one of their songs. In this case the snippet of Erroll’s music was Hard to Handle by Otis ReddingOh man, they seem to have deleted it. What did they put?
Great now I went down a rabbit hole to find a good pressing of The Young Lions which lead me to a discogs seller with Japanese pressings in Canada... 3 records later with a bunch now on the wishlist I return. Thank you but also curse you hahahaSo so glad its this, been listening since the guess was made. Great shout @Mr Moore for the guess, spot on!
Bob Cranshaw features on bass, he was a side-man on a TON of amazing albums. He features on a lot of Lee Morgan's records (The Sidewinder, Delightfulee, The Gigolo), Sonny Rollin's - The Bridge, Dexter Gordon – Clubhouse, Stanley Turrentine – Hustlin', and The Young Lions (an album you should DEFINITELY listen to if you haven't already!
Liner notes/essay is really interesting as well. Classics has smashed it again!
I dug my copy of to play after I mentioned it . Its a fantastic session and the line-up is just insane - Lee Morgan, Wayne Shorter, Bob Cranshaw, Frank Strozier, Albert "Tuttie" Heath, Louis Hayes, Cannonball Adderley & Bobby Timmons....wowwww.Great now I went down a rabbit hole to find a good pressing of The Young Lions which lead me to a discogs seller with Japanese pressings in Canada... 3 records later with a bunch now on the wishlist I return. Where was the Otis skip that people have had issues with? I just received and am about to spin. Want to make sure I am paying attention
So I had some skips on a couple of tracks that went away after repeated listens. Maybe some dust had to get moved around, although I cleaned prior to listening. Vinyl looks pretty scuffed, perhaps from the paper sleeve. The last track though had some heavy distortion during the 2nd round of Amens "with the horns"... Anyone else come across that? Sounds almost like a skip or heavy audio feedback...
Wait. It’s in mono? I completely missed that ha! Wasn’t it originally released in stereo? And is the mono a fold or are all the songs dedicated mixes? Sorry if this has been gone over before. Finally got my copy of Otis, it's almost difficult to believe how great this sounds especially for a mono LP. Exceptional job by VMP

Well considering mine hasn't even shipped, this seems like bad news. Also bullshit that they are already out of replacements.Completely out of stock. Not able to replace. Oh well. Was offered refund, credit or a different record that is in stock. Seeing if that includes the AP pressings, ha
