Vinyl Me Please Classics

So so glad its this, been listening since the guess was made. Great shout @Mr Moore for the guess, spot on!

Bob Cranshaw features on bass, he was a side-man on a TON of amazing albums. He features on a lot of Lee Morgan's records (The Sidewinder, Delightfulee, The Gigolo), Sonny Rollin's - The Bridge, Dexter Gordon ‎– Clubhouse, Stanley Turrentine ‎– Hustlin', and The Young Lions (an album you should DEFINITELY listen to if you haven't already!

Liner notes/essay is really interesting as well. Classics has smashed it again!
Great now I went down a rabbit hole to find a good pressing of The Young Lions which lead me to a discogs seller with Japanese pressings in Canada... 3 records later with a bunch now on the wishlist I return. Thank you but also curse you hahaha

That's awesome!
Yeah, that lineup is way too good to ignore. It was an instant purchase.
Can't wait to give it a spin when it comes in

Where was the Otis skip that people have had issues with? I just received and am about to spin. Want to make sure I am paying attention :)

So I had some skips on a couple of tracks that went away after repeated listens. Maybe some dust had to get moved around, although I cleaned prior to listening. Vinyl looks pretty scuffed, perhaps from the paper sleeve. The last track though had some heavy distortion during the 2nd round of Amens "with the horns"... Anyone else come across that? Sounds almost like a skip or heavy audio feedback...

Completely out of stock. Not able to replace. Oh well. Was offered refund, credit or a different record that is in stock. Seeing if that includes the AP pressings, ha

Finally got my copy of Otis, it's almost difficult to believe how great this sounds especially for a mono LP. Exceptional job by VMP
Wait. It’s in mono? I completely missed that ha! Wasn’t it originally released in stereo? And is the mono a fold or are all the songs dedicated mixes? Sorry if this has been gone over before.

Yes its mono, the only place it's noted is on the spine from what I can see. I believe they are true mono mixes but not sure of the specifics

Well considering mine hasn't even shipped, this seems like bad news. Also bullshit that they are already out of replacements.

Yeah definitely not ideal. AP pressing was a no-go, so I got a copy of Flaming Lips. I am sure more Otis' will show up in the swap pool next month and I will be thrilled...

no QRP sleeves on the next couple VMP classics btw... since they are using pallas now.. i'm expecting the standard VMP bag for that

My copy has this in the last 2 songs 🤬
