Are people just not watching The Handmaid's Tale this season? Seems like there's very little talk, well, anywhere online.

Personally, I am behind a bit. Just watched the second episode tonight. It does feel a little stuck at the moment, but I hope it's building to a more satisfying ending than last season.
I'm watching! I haven't watched this week's yet though. Not much has happened. I feel like it is a way slower burn this season. Or maybe it's just lost its luster. Honeymoon phase over?

I'm all caught up on this season, and it's been good enough, but I just dont find any joy in talking about it anymore.

Is that because it doesn’t just spark a huge response for you this season? I’m curious.

I was bummed with the finale, believing this season would just be more of the same, which for a show like this...it just can’t keep that up. It’s gotta move forward. I’m still just two eps in, but it does feel a little slow and not too exciting

I think its because it's just so depressing it makes it hard to get excited about it. I dont know, I still enjoy it, but its lost a bit of its spark for me.

There’s a new season of The Confession Tapes on Netflix. Just four episodes, which is lame. But yeah this season is just as great and frustrating as season one. If you don’t know it, it’s a true crime series with each episode focusing on a case where someone was pushed into confessing to a crime (murders mostly) during an interrogation. Which is more common than you’d think. Also yes people do “confess” to crimes they were not part of.

Watching The Handmaid’s Tale season 3. I’m going to need some progress here because there’s way too much wheel spinning right now.
This is all I've heard about season three. It's exactly how I felt about season 2, and since that hasn't been remedied, I have 0 interest in watching. If I wanted misery porn with no pay off, I'd watch the news.

Have you watched this week's ? I felt like this season was building and this week was the start of what they were building towards

There has been some payoff, they have started the resistance in Gilead and there have been signs of hope. I do get your torture porn point tho, and that's a main reason I cant get excited enough to discuss it a bunch.

Don't want to get spoilery for people who haven't watched but I'm more talking about Serena Joy. 2 steps forward then 3 steps back with her.

I guess I never trusted her steps forward as actual change, so her steps backward didnt surprise me.

I want to believe serena's redemption story will continue. Because I don't want there to be a world where women treat each other that way. But it also didn't feel completely believable that she was changing. I was always suspicious of her true motives.

Someone else pointed out that she's not really worried about the oppression of the women of Gilead unless it directly affects her. When it affects her, she reacts. I'm just tired of the yo-yo decision making.

Season 2 of Dark is even denser and more bizarre than the first, and I am all in for it.

Don't let the fact that it's a German show hold you back, it's worth the investment. If you're even remotely interested in time travel-like stories, this is something you should watch. It's complex and sometimes difficult to track all of the characters (especially since I don't remember everything that happened in season one). But it still hits me.
