4. The Black Album
5. Kill Em All

The black album introduced me to Metallica so a bit of bias for it

Bettim’s answer except I hold Justice in slightly higher regard than “a giant gap”. Production/mix on that is the biggest knock. Songs still slap.

If I had to rank the ties,

1. Lightning
2. Master
3. KEA

i just listened to mine today actually

the production of the album wasn't as good as the stream surprisingly.. still a great record.. but the deeper growls were kinda hard to hear in the mix

Really?! Super interesting. Not the case on my system but YMMV. Album sounds far superior on wax to my ears.

When I was young, KISS used to scare the bejeezus out of me. If my parents played them, I would run to this one recliner chair that we had and pull all of my limbs up onto the chair (because anything hanging off of the chair would be eaten by the KISS monster hiding under the chair). And I'd stay there, shaking, until they stopped playing KISS.

I'm over that now.
