Had a hard time not getting more than this from BN today. I love a good sale.
I've been looking for a good, Van Gelder stamped of Blue Train for a little while now and finally managed to snag this RVG STEREO early Liberty copy in what looks to be NM quality, minus some bubbling on one of the labels. Got it for a good bit less than MMJ SRX retail!
Sonny Rollins - East Broadway Run Down is not spoken about as often as it should be. It's maybe top 3 in his catalogue. Definitely top 5. I scored this OG stereo with Van Gelder stamp for what should be way too cheap.
Finally starting to pickup the new Stereolab reissues. Looks to be very nice quality.

I did a really bad thing this morning. I went to pick-up an old order at Modulor Records in Paris (home of Wewantsounds, Le Très Jazz Club or Le Très Groove Club). I had their last LTJC, 2 records, and LTGC, 3 records, pre-ordered since October but only today went to pick them up :

Buuuuuuut firrrrrrst, I decided to make a stop at Gibert Joseph (an Independant and famous bookseller, record shop, etc... in Paris). Well it happens that they imported a lot of Japanese Jazz CD for sale. It happens that I've been eyeing these CD for a while and, you see, they had a lot and I could start collecting them as I don't have most of them on vinyl and..! Oh! A NEW RABBIT HOLE!
Soooooooooooo, Ladies & Gentlemen, here are 29 (on 40) CD from the Three Blind Mice Supreme Collection 1500 reissued this year by Disk Union in Japan. So I am missing 11 CD... Let the hunt begin!

Got home after work to some fresh bits. Mrs Moore gave me a look of disdain when I assured her these were the last records I’m buying this year.
Some excellent condition originals
And a couple of fab and already hard to come by reissues. At €39 The 2010 reissue of East New York Ensemble de Music was more than I’d have liked to pay but it was a good bit less than the market seems to be pricing it and I love it so much. The opener, Mevlana is on the Jazzman Spiritual Jazz: Islam compilation and it just blows me away.
For Europeans, I can highly recommend Sofa Records in Lyon. They shipped within hours of ordering on Boxing Day and have arrived in Blighty 5 days later.

Made a couple of Barnes and Noble stops this week, unfortunately for the wallet. They stock so many of the more known titles, this sale is a good way to pick those up on the cheap. Have a few more things to arrive, but a purchasing slow down in the new year for sure
