Fresh Grabs

Probably paid a tad too much for this, but I’m definitely pleased to have this one in the collection.

B.B. King - Lucille (VMP, 2019 Classics Pressing)
Run DMC - Raising Hell (VMP, 2019 R&HH Pressing)
Miles Davis - Early Minor: Rare Miles From The Complete In A Silent Way Sessions (Legacy/Columbia, 2019 Black Friday pressing)
T. Yokota And The Beat Generation – Flute Adventure: Le Soleil Était Encore Chaud (Superfly Records, 2015 Limited Pressing)
Mike Selesia ‎– Flavor (Mad About Records, 2019 Limited to 500 Pressings)

VMP delivered (without the customs charge some internationals have been hit with) a couple of records I have been waiting on. The Miles was one I picked up on Black Friday but a family member gave me the money for it and gifted it back to me. The Flute Adventure has been on my wantlist for ages now and this one popped up on ebay from a seller I have bought from before (thanks @Mr Moore for mentioning it to me), and although she took ages sending it to me (3 and a half weeks from buying to her actually posting it)....again....it eventually arrived it great condition. The Mike Selesia is something I have gone in blind, its an experimental jazz album, limited to 500 pressings. The original was private press with an even smaller pressing, but this reissue cost me £15 sealed so I will give it a go.

Bonus book.
Lee Morgan - Delightfulee: The Life and Music of Lee Morgan
I have been after a copy of this for AGES. Lee is my favourite jazz musician and I have regularly been checking online for a copy of this for over a year now. It didnt seem readily available in the UK, and to have it shipped international was way too expensive. I finally found an affordable copy (£20) and decided to go for it. It took a month to get to me and the day it arrived I had a notification to say amazon now stock it with prime delivery......typical.

Nop, I am after Donald Byrd, Stanley Turentine and Gil Evans records but none got close to the price I paid for the others. They are both three a bit above 30. I am waiting patiently. I recently bought a BN80 reissue at 15€or so but price increased up to 20€ right after I placed my order. Winter sales are starting in France on Jan 9th, I hope to see some TP or BN80 on sale.

Fire, fire, fire! I have been very happy with Mad About Record so far, they have more spiritual jazz reissues to be released very soon. I collected all the records in this serie except the very first one that is sold out everywhere. Welcome on board! Oh and good to see another Superfly Records in your hands. Another Toshiaki Yokota & The Beat Generation ‎record just got reissued in Japan. You can check here.
