December 2021 Vinyl Spin Challenge Thread: ‘Tis The Season Of Giving

Day 4 - Lust
Play something that makes you feel dirty

My spin of another Klaus Schulze album in the spinnin' thread made me think of using this one here. This was a little bit awkward when I went to check out. The girl did a little double take at the cover, but then said she loves Klaus Schulze, so I think it made me look a little less like a creeper. Then again, if she knew it was a soundtrack to a porno she may have still thought I was.

Day 3 - Happy Hour
Play something that helps you unwind after work

Ray Charles "Soul + Genius = Jazz" (1961 Impulse!; 2021 Acoustic Sounds Series)
Well, I basically listen to music to unwind, so anything would go for this challenge. Different music for different circumstances. I'm in the mood to unwind by sipping an americano while listening to some jazz right now. The equivalent to when I used to meet up with my friends at a Montreal café after work on Fridays, before moving on to restaurants, bars and other activities.

Day 1 - Asia
Play something from the largest continent

V.S.O.P. The Quintet - Live Under the Sky

While the musicians are American (Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Tony Williams), the performance is from Japan in 1979.

If I were a male stripper the only songs I would dance to would be from this album. So that makes me feel dirty! Something very sexual about this album, at least to me. 🥴

Serge Gainsbourg "Histoire De Melody Nelson" (1971 Philips; 2009 Light In The Attic reissue)
If Prince is already taken for this challenge, then I will have to go with the salacious Serge Gainsbourg. Just about every word he sings is soaked in sexual innuendo or just straight up filth. And it's awesome.
