Getting through workdays by daydreaming about saving enough money, quitting and traveling for a year straight (or longer).
The last several years, I've picked a few bands to finally really dig into and subsequently get obsessed with (Steely Dan, Nick Cave &tBS, & King Gizz being previous examples). This year, it's looking like REM. An unbelievable number of bangers, and I'm only at the surface.

Release weekend roundup:
- King Gizz - Ripper. One of their best front to back. a lot of fun. 8/10
- QotSA - Good, not great. Some shredders on there. Doesn't hit previous highs, but enjoyed listening. 6.5/10
- Killer Mike - Solid record. A nice return to southern hip hop sound. 7.5-8/10
- Sigur Ros - Good, but idk. Really beautiful, but starts to sound the same after a while. 7/10
New King Gizz album goes stupid hard. Face melters front to back.
Rumor is new Slowdive album, Everything is Alive, out September 1. So fucking ready.
Cormac McCarthy passed away. One of our greats. Read almost all of his stuff in college. Seems like a good time to revisit.
New Sigur Ros track makes me wonder if we have another masterpiece incoming.

Went on a walk, played Zelda for several hours, and listened to 5 albums in my backlog. Self care month in full swing.
So it seems like Reddit is killing the 3rd party app I've used for 10ish years. Seems like a good chance to hop off. I mainly use it for consolidated music, movie, and game news. Where do you guys get your's if not Reddit? -
