Alan Sparhawk's first album since his wife, Mimi Parker, passed away from cancer in 2022 (and the subsequent ending of their band Low), is dropping Friday. As a huge fan of Low, I am highly anticipating the album. But it's going to be emotional.. I've avoided the singles, but here's a nice article from the NYT: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/23/arts/music/low-alan-sparkhawk-white-roses-my-god.html
Reactivated my Rate Your Music (RYM) account and I've started making Top10 lists for my favourite albums from past years. I've finished back through 2020. I'd like to go back at least through 2000 (and probably further). Just a side hobby to fuel my love of lists and music. I've included the link if anyone is interested https://rateyourmusic.com/~MusicJunkieGreg
If anyone is as big a fan of clipping. as I am, their self-titled album is getting a repress for it's 10th anniversary. It's up on Bandcamp. Pretty sweet color design. First record I've ordered this year.
Leading up to the last few days, this Kendrick/Drake beef was entertaining, to say the least. But after the methodical drop of 'Meet The Grahams' and then 'Not Like Us' soon after, KDot has delivered the coup de grâce... twice! What's next!?
