Christian Music, Anyone?

Needles & Grooves Confession, I listened to these guys a LOT when I was a kid and still find myself singing this song, among others, to myself more often than I'd like to admit:

The breakdown at 1:19 is hot a cappella fire

Guys, these dudes and their youth pastor mullets produced earworms on earworms on earworms.

P.O.D was my shit back in middle and High School. While most people only really knew of them from their Satellite days, a lot of their albums past that were pretty solid. Self-Titled, Testify, and When Angels and Serpents Dance were all solid albums. I stopped following them shortly after Angels and Serpents, mostly because I didn't really listen hard rock/numetal after High School. They still however have a small place in my heart and I listen to them every once and a while.

Also got into Demon Hunter pretty deep while in College. Honestly, they were my gateway into the more extreme genres of metal. Especially Black metal. They are nothing close to Black Metal, but the screamed vocals and more aggressive blast beast of their early albums really helped me ease into the those more aggressive genres like BM. While they probably now call themselves a Christian group nowadays, they previously hovered in that grey area of having a more positive message in their songs, with the aggressive metal sound, all while not shoving a Christian rhetoric down your throat. Their first 5 albums or so are still great, but after that it get's a bit shakey with a only a few songs that I really enjoy.

I’m really digging DH’s most recent single. “No place for you here”.

My best friend in high school was super into Zao and Living Sacrifice. I remember liking The Hammering Process.

So I didn't grow in a religious household. I started going to church my Junoir year in high school (2001-ish) so I have a weird relationship to Xn music. Groups I haven't seen mentioned yet are RED and Good Charlotte.

I have never heard even flaked that gc was xtian and or members who are xtian

the members definitely were as they talked about MXPX showing them a different side of life
Huh?! This is odd. NEVER heard anything remotely close to this. Also odd as mxpx weren’t exactly preachers. See joy devision if you’re looking for they.

Will go down a rabbit hole with gc now. Admittedly I never liked them but I can’t imagine this being a thing. Are they the shake it once it’s fine shake it two times you’re playing with yourself , band ?

I really love Skillet.

Jen Ledger is also putting out a Solo Album, maybe later this year. She released a EP last year.
