Magnolia Record Club

LIke...I know they are separate warehouses but at some point they could afford to ship some of that warehouse stock to the "club" warehouse for usage. Or heck, convert it as credit to the webstore if you can't. Sure you pay shipping then but it's an option.

Why do Magnolia's swaps suck so bad. I think I am out this month.

It's probably their biggest problem. Even converting the subscription dollars to store credit would fix a lot of my qualms. There's no incentive for me to leave being month to month but if I had to choose a record? I'd be so gone.

Yep. I hate comps but their are all kinds of store exclusives I'd be interested in, even if they did it like Bandbox where they didn't ship till release date it would be good. Probably will skip next month too unless they have some better swap options, not holding my breath. They won't change I am afraid and with as many subscribers as they have, they don't need too. I also see tons of people who preorder from The Dualtone store a then its get announced the record of the month a few months later. They could go ahead and let people know that so people aren't buying it twice.

Is their subscriber base that large? I never could get a handle on where that stood.

I would assume it is the multiple of thousands if I was guessing. Not VMP big, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is 5,000-10,000. They have recently outsourced their store exclusives shipping to some company in Washington state so that tells me something right there.

Their Magnolia "haves" usually run between 200-400 for RoTM selections on Discogs. I am unsure on how that would really translate, in comparison M.I.A.'s VMP RotM of Kala is at about 4500 in comparison. I suspect the Magnolia segment not on Discogs might be a higher percentage than VMP just based on relative user proclivity but I think it's modest but notable.

I feel like if they didn't post an exclusive or a standard version in their shop there's a great chance. He's aggressively up their alley and the right profile.

Ok...it's due out in November, I think I'll wait on any pre-orders for now.
