Wait. Is smart pink the site that used to be like blue and green and look VERY 90s web design ? If not does anyone know what I’m taking about ?
This is brining back so many memories. Used to order and get the free buttons or posters with releases. I recall getting the first few jimmy eat world and Thursday records from there because “main stream” record stores didn’t want to carry them, man!

I got a shipping notice 2 weeks ago, but no movement on it at all. They haven't responded to any of my emails over the past month or so either.

Such a cluster. As much as I love Nubya's music and this isn't directly her fault, it is really putting me off being a fan. It is such a customer service nightmare.

Mine just showed up Wednesday:

Original two separate orders 7/16....

Sent CS status check email on 8/27. Got auto response saying they were to busy to respond. Never got a human reply

Sent CS status check email on 12/1. No response.

Sent CS another status check email on 12/2. Got auto response saying they were busy.

Got shipping notice on 12/4.

I had 2 separate orders. One for the signed Test Press and a unsigned vinyl AND 2nd for a signed colored vinyl. They used the std SecondCity mailer for 2nd order BUT a cheap 12x12 thin mailer for Test Press and unsigned vinyl. Both those items have minor shipping damage from the cheap mailer.

They could do better.

They still are like that. Punx don't change lol

*EDIT* nevermind they've changed. I guess all those old punx got their kids to help them update their site now lol

Was excited to see there's a new album coming next year from Alice Phoebe Lou. Both a limited edition (coloured vinyl, signed, lyric booklet; they'll only press as many as are ordered by the end of the year) and basic vinyl option. Doesn't look like there’ll be any purchasing options (at least for the limited edition) other than this (linked) site, which is connected to APL's website. Trying to come to grips with the $50+ price tag for the limited vinyl shipped internationally. At least I know I've got some time...

Yeah I was grappling with the same decision but doing it as a Christmas gift to myself. Paper Castles has been one of my most spun records since getting it! Actually bought the LP from her at a tiny show here in LA right before COVID shut everything down and she was nice enough to chat with us and sign it! She is criminally underrated and I hope this album helps her find the acclaim she certainly deserves. Kind of like the mystery around this colored vinyl as well. What will it be 🥷

Well, it's Chromatics! ❤️

Haha! That’s exactly the rationalization I’ve been working on! :D. Very cool that you had a chance to see her live, and chat with her. With her history of busking, I have no doubt she’s a fabulous performer. For me, it’s Live at Funkhaus I’ve spent a lot of time listening to. I’ll have to spend more time with Paper Castles and Orbit, which is the album of hers I’ve landed most recently. I’m pretty sure she’s completely independent, making her music on her own terms and selling it that way as well. When/If our world gets back to normal, I definitely will keep an eye our for her touring in the states.

Wait. Island Years edition? Hmmm

Oh fuck yes!!!!!!

I’ll be waiting for others to start posting but damn...this collection of songs is 🔥🔥🔥

This release is worth it just for the acoustic melody

They are located in the UK, right? If so, they have been and are in strict lockdown. They probably can't reply or are overwhelmed, and the distribution will be messed up as well because there is no one at the warehouse.

If it shipped from the UK, it is likely still there. Two weeks is nothing right now. I have been waiting 6 weeks for a package from Germany. Patience and understanding - there is a pandemic going on.

I never gave this band a chance until earlier this year and I really like them. Kill For Love is a really good album and then I found out they were in the Twin Peaks HBO series which is amazing so they gained my respect. Their sound fits right in with what I like a lot. That song "Shadow" they did for Twin Peaks is sooooo good. It's like a Dream-Pop version of "Atmosphere" by Joy Division.

Not a pre-order but I finally listen to the new Aesop Rock album this morning and as I expected it is pretty great. Unfortunately everyone else must have done the same thing as the wax copies of the LP were practically sold out everywhere. Good news is I did manage to snag a copy from Zia Records and it looks like they still have other copies in stock.

Ani Defranco just added a few more signed copy vinyl preorders.

Update: as of Sunday evening US Central Timezone these are out of stock again. There is a signup to be notified if they make more available.

I saw Low about 15 years ago (touring ‘The Great Destroyer’, maybe still my favourite show ever) and Kid Dakota were opening with Zak Sally on bass. They were great.
I saw them on secret name in west palm Beach and it's still one of my favorite shows. Mimi was achingly pretty and they all sat on a sofa right by the door, watching everyone walk in.
