Fresh Grabs

Mill City Sound in Hopkins had a 20% off used vinyl sale and I couldn’t pass on this boxset once I laid my eyes upon it.

Can’t wait to spin that “The Eleven.”
But this whole show is 👌❤✌
Busy when you showed up there? Was thinking about making the trip, but got distracted. Will probably just have to live vicariously through your pick ups (as usual!! 😀).

Got there a little after 9 today and there were 8-10 people there.

But I really didn’t want to buy this, because of my recent Music Matters splurging, but also couldn’t pass it up. 🤣😁

What a gorgeous set! More like a box set than a regular 2LP - there is a great 20 page booklet stapled inside the gatefold that has fantastic pics, essays, etc. I paid around $32 on Amazon and it's well worth it IMO. Here are just a few pics.

Pretty solid mail day here!

To the left we have AFI's 2013 gothic rock album Burials. Solid record! Double LP, single pocket jacket.

More importantly, to the right, we have Apocalyptica's Original Vinyl Classics compilation. This just came out, and it's pretty important. It has two of their albums. The first, World's Collide from 2007, has NEVER been on vinyl before, so this is the first and, so far, only vinyl press! The second, 7th Symphony from 2010, is the first reissue of the album on vinyl. Each album is on its own LP, gatefold sleeve. The inside of the gatefold simply has the covers of the two albums.

Great stuff! I have some listening to do tonight!

Ah, forgot to post these yesterday! Stuff from The Record Exchange in Frederick, MD!

Some long awaited collection items here. Some great Aerosmith albums. First press of Toys in the Attic, '76 reissue of their self titled. Some cool 45s from Def Leppard, Emerald (clear, limited to 420), Funkadelic and Kelly Clarkson. Best of all, original European press of Combat Rock by The Clash! Sleeve is fairly beat, but the OIS and record itself are in fantastic shape!

Definitely a lighter haul from The Record Exchange (I usually spend $100+ a trip there), but I got some great stuff!

Sweet! Mine is scheduled to arrive Thursday. It was even cheaper on Amazon Canada...around 24$ if you convert to US.

Ohhhh I've been waiting for someone to pick this one up, it looks gorgeous. How does it sound? Has that live recording been cleaned up at all?

Wow, some great grabs the past few days here!

Didn't know Face Records opened a store in Brooklyn. The news reminds me to check out their auctions. It's been a while.

Participated in a record show/fair yesterday as a seller and sold some excess CDs and vinyl records.

Picked out some good records for myself from other participants, too.

My local Fnac has done some work in their vinyl corner and some great records were laying around, so I took advantage.

Ali Farka Toure - The Source
Afro Cuban All Star - A Toda Cuba Le Gusta (45rpm, BG remasters)
Fela Kuti & Africa 70 - Afrodisiac
CW Stoneking - Gon’ Boogaloo
Wow at that CW Stoneking and Ali Farka Toure! Saw Ali perform at Form a few weeks ago and he was INFUCKINGCREDIBLE. Never saw an audience dance more in my life
