August 2020 Challenge Thread - The Dog Days of Vinyl Playing

DAY 13
SCARY!
clipping. - There Existed an Addiction to Blood
Shamelessly cribbing from @Lee Newman here, as I don't have a wife to bug with my noise rap/Daveed Diggs horrorcore bars! 😀
I thought about playing Clipping. but decided that would bug my wife.
For real though this album is a masterpiece. A very effectively creepy, haunting hip-hop record with intense raps and abrasive production that work off each other unbelievably well. And you have to love an album that dedicates an entire side of a record to the sound of a piano burning. The scariness factor is obvious; songs about vampires, werewolves, death, murder, torture, suicide, police brutality, snuff films, etc. And the color variant is a blood splatter!

August 17 - Case of the Mondays - Play an album that is about work in some manner.

Thelonious Monk - It's Monk's Time (CBS, 1964 First UK Mono Pressing)

This has the track 'Nice Work If You Can Get It' and is an album I actually had on my 'to play' pile which was quite the coincidence!

Day 17 - Case of the Mondays

I was really excited when this “lost” recording was uncovered, as it was recorded in Madison about 10 min from my house. It’s the only live album from a major artist I can think of that’s recorded in Madison.

August 17 - Case of the Mondays - Play an album that is about work in some manner

I generally use music to get away from my work so to find something that really fit was challenging. However, it did make me glad someone else used this during the long album day, as who can resist when the Schuyler Sisters compel you to work?

Hamilton - Original Broadway Cast Recording (thanks BAM for having one in stock recently...)
