Honestly, I’m more than happy to take my usual money and spending it elsewhere.

I’ve been meaning to buy directly from artists more often, and this is the push I needed. Either that, or local record stores.

If it cost them $40 an album to manufacture the set, then they are idiots for pressing any, much less 7500. No way it costs MoFi or AP or MM even near that per album.

Are they not going to send emails to their entire customer base? I literally wouldn’t have known if I wasn’t a member of this forum or if I didn’t check our website. I know people personally who haven’t paid the service any mind since signing up and they just have records show up at their door. Is VMP banking on just flying under the radar with most of their customer base and secretly gouging them?

As I posted on my status... my annual subscription just renewed last week at the grandfathered $284 rate. I can't imagine how they are going to actually survive until next July with this ridiculous move, but if they do I'll ride it out until then I guess...

But Grateful Dead.....who already have pressings readily available of those albums that are included in the Boxset + the price tag....like what the fuck!!!

I doubt it to be honest. $450 for any vinyl set more than 1000 or so pressed is absolutely jumping the shark. There just aren't that many people who can drop that type of cash.

Some idiots would buy some for sure but an artist sell his entire catelogue of 4 albums for $449? That’s like $112.50 an album. There are that many people buying vinyl, that have and are willing to pay that much and subscribe to VMP?
