Pre-Order Thread

Yeah I can't believe she's not tweeted. I don't think Charli typically puts out many variants, if I'm not mistaken there was only one standard clear pressing of the self-titled. But I could totally see Urban Outfitters being all over this, if anyone is gonna get their own variant it will probably be them. For now, we wait and see...
She tweeted about it with links to the Warner store and Amazon, both standard orange vinyl.

Agreed that she was going for grandiose. Obviously, it really worked for some folks. To me, it just felt a bit forced and overbearing, and never resonated despite repeat listens. 'My Woman' is easily my favorite, and 'Phases' has gotten plenty of spins. I own 'Burn Your Fire..." but it's a bit more hit and miss, and I don't turn to it as often.

EDIT: I have seen her live 4-5 times, and it's always been great.

I am a big fan, Burn Your Fire... is still my favorite. I've seen her live several times. Got to meet her briefly at Rough Trade. Big fan.

All Mirrors is very hard to listen to, imo, due to the mix/dynamic range. It goes so far from quiet to loud, so often, that it can be exhausting. It's just not an album that you can throw on and play on repeat. The songs are GREAT live, though. I am very much looking forward to hearing these stripped down iterations of those songs next.

Sacred Bones is doing a full Mort Garson archival series (which is pretty awesome, after months of just doubling down on random Plantasia merch). There's also an audiophile 2xLP version of Plantasia as well - not really sure how much that will add to that recording vs. the standard (also not really sure I trust Sacred Bones to create an "audiophile" pressing).

I've got one coming from the US and one from the EU store - since the US store went up earlier then the EU and I didn't want to miss out.
If you really want a yellow copy, I could send you one as soon as I have received both copies.
Just shoot me a message and we'll work everything out - of course, I'll be sending you the copy at cost.
It still shows as in stock for me, that's so weird! I even managed to order two copies by mistake in the frenzy!
If you miss out I can send you a copy.
That's incredibly generous of both of you. I'd feel a bit greedy doing this for a record I do have a copy of coming in so if @Sonicpharmacist missed out then they can have the extra. I do appreciate it tho 💙

If anyone heard any more about the audiophile version I would love to hear some more details other than 2xLP 45RPM, which is all they say. My VMP version is poppy as hell. Although, splitting it to 2xLP for a 31 minute album is pretty silly. I'd rather they do an audiophile 33.

People are in the replies of Charli's announcement tweet posting pics of the eBay listings flippers have already made. They should have implemented at least a two-per-customer limit here but I'm thinking they didn't. It would be nice if they could go through the orders and cancel the ones where people clearly ordered a large number solely for resale value. This happened with a release in the hip-hop thread not too long ago but I'm assuming that was a much more independent release. Maybe if Charli sees it and raises a fuss to WB they will cancel the orders because it seems like almost none of her actual fans got one and the volume of eBay listings, at least to me, tell a pretty clear story of what actually happened here.

They could just file a complaint with eBay because if I remember eBay's rules correctly, you're not allowed to sell an item for more than 30 days in advance to shipping (from your place to the person you've sold it to)...
And maybe this will help getting flipper accounts blocked on eBay.

But of course, the question remains: Why not limit orders to a certain amount of copies?

Yeah, unless they plan to move this pressing from their typical GZ, I'd be afraid you'd just be getting a poppy as hell 31 minute 2xLP :D

New Blaqk Audio to dance the quarantine summer away with. Side A dropped on streaming services last night, full album releases late August. (Vinyl preorders ship in October.)

Signed Pink Copy limited to 250 as well. Pricey but I loved AFI in High school, and have been a pretty fan of Blaqk Audio as well. Had to pull the trigger on this.

Absolutely. AFI was the band in high school that turned me from a kid who liked music into a Music kid (even if alot of that music didnt age well).

Still love AFI, especially from Black Sails to DecemberUnderground. And that first BA album blew me away and have all been solid since. Having a signed album from them is going to be great and will hopefully hold me over while I endlessly wait for a repress of Sing the Sorrow.

Deluxe edition of I Disagree

It's four bonus tracks from the looks of it. Assuming that's what is on the picture disc. I guess this a neat package if you didn't already have the album on vinyl but it's a bit lame to sell this like this for people who already own the actual album.

I thought the Plantasia repress sounded quite good, especially considering there are no master tapes involved.
