That said it tailed off an awful lot towards the end but the first 5 or 6 seasons were gold!

Yea the US version has gone on for way too long,(S10 soon!) and the earlier seasons were much better, but it still keeps me there with its mix debauchery and emotion. (Doesnt hurt that the two oldest Gallaghers are babes)

I also add this disclaimer... much like the Wire, the first couple of episodes just throw you into the world and it takes a moment to adjust and for the depth and layered plots to reveal themselves.

But once the happens, it's far from boring. It's riveting televison the revels in the uncomfortable.

You are all very right. The previews and promos and ads simply can't give you an adequate view into what this show is. They are very boring. Just trust that a majority of people that watch it love it for a reason. It is ridiculously fun.

I would agree - give it about 3 episodes. If you still don't like it, bail. But I would be quite surprised if you don't find something to like by then. And then it just takes off from there. And I've only seen S1. I heard S2 just ratchets it all up more.

Well, I did say I loved S1 for a reason! S2 and S3 are fine. Yes, it all gets wrapped up. But they are not nearly as good as S1.

I very much enjoy the US Shameless. It's just a fun, easy show for me to watch. But it kinda needs to end.

Yeah the UK one went on for 11 or 12 seasons and whilst it was still ridiculous and fun it kind of didn't have the same ability to shock because it had done most of it before. Also it broke some serious talent (James McEvoy was in the first two seasons) in its early days but most of the best of them had moved on by the end.

Adam McKay barely has much to do with it, and to me it's not really like his "serious" movies. It's handled way better, but it does feel slow to start. The maneuvering inside the company (similar to GOT in a way, or even Mad Men but not as good) and the Greg character are honestly the two aspects that made me keep watching. I don't find it as great as so many people say it is, but it's enjoyable.

Yeah, like he’s by far the most “likable” character and he is still a self-centered prick. None of the characters are sympathetic but that’s kinda what is brilliant they start out as gigantic shits and the show almost makes you feel sorry for them before having them show their awful true colors.

Also, tons of great performances throughout.
 
So... I've expressed my love for Mr. Robot several times in this thread. I've watched season 1 twice (it was even better the second time).

I just started the process of rewatching S2 and S3 in prep for S4 (S2 feels incredibly relevant in the era of Trump and aired before his election).

Anyways, it got me wondering (especially after people starting talking about the reasons they haven't been watching Succession)...

Quick poll:
1) How many of you have been watching Mr. Robot the whole way through?
2) How many of you watched S1 but then stopped. And if so, where did you stop?
3) How many of you have not watched it- and if so, why?

im surprised at how it seems nobody has watched legion, fargo, atlanta, and westworld. just damn good writing all around - and noah hawlyes done two of those! legion was the must challenging and rewarding. too bad it just didn't click with low iq america.

Hey now, those are all top notch shows. I think All have been fairly critically acclaimed. Atlanta, and Westworld are still ongoing (Not sure if they have decided to do a season 4 of Fargo yet though). I am glad they ended Legion when they did it was a good run. I am also happy places like FX and HBO exist for programing of this quality It will be interesting to see how their new corporate overlords will effect their output moving forward.

Basically 4 of my 10 favorite shows on TV. With Atlanta or Mr. Robot being my favorite.

Frankly, FX is my favorite network. And the content they produce seems to have caused HBO to re-evaluate theirs. Because they've gone back to making more character studies and allowing auteurs to do their thing.

Love Mr. Robot, I've watched all of it except havent started the new season yet.
