I *think* Sturgill is the same mastering info from the original pressing. Just now in a pretty color.
If that’s the case then that’s pretty disappointing. Definitely not worth $33 or more to me.
Stoked for Merle and Willie though!
I got Blossom Dearie that way.
They are as loose with their definition of "wait list" as they are with "best albums" and "essential."

Anyone know if there are any solid pressings of Marty Robin’s Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs? Looks like it got the Boom Boom treatment a few years ago but hard to come by, only pressed 600
People seem to be paying for a lot of money for the Real Gone reissue from a few years back. On the other hand, this pressing seems decent and affordable.
I have an OG mono and haven't bothered upgrading, myself. I feel like it's inevitable for this track sooner or later, tbh.

Yes!! It sounds better than my original! (which has a bunch of static) This is a great album to get on a Friday night when I happen to have a nice supply of bourbon handy...

Yeah that’s my thinking, it feels like an obvious contender for the Country Track. Will probs just wait it out as I feel it’s inevitable as well ahahah. Real Gone pressings are going for too much. I’ll be patient

Your best bet is getting a VG+ copy of Gunfighter Ballads pressed in the 60s or early 70s and hoping VMP eventually reissues it (which they probably will) .

Just spun mine. They really did a superb job on this. My copy is flawless, which you never know with GZ. Great pressing.
I’m spinning mine right now for the fourth time this weekend. I absolutely love this pressing. It may be my favorite VMP has ever put out.
