Pre-Order Thread

Judging by this terminology I am guessing there will be an indie exclusive.

John Prine's Grammy Award-winning album Fair & Square WILL BE AVAILABLE October 1st in three editions as a double LP for the first on vinyl time in sixteen years.
Either way, thanks for the eyeballs, @mitchwagz . I grabbed one.

(only 14 left, if you’re so inclined)

Word of warning for Canadians who order from Amazon.ca.

I have to return my copy of Pure Phase (one track riddled with non-fill, a real mess). I don't do a lot of returns with Amazon but was wanting a replacment (which I have done before no problem). When I got the the replace portion, I was given the option to replace the title with "an item from my viewing history". I could not request a replacement of the specific record.

I tried it with a few different variations over a couple of days to see if I could get it replaced with another copy of Pure Phase but no luck. My only option was to either return for refund or replace with a different item, which was filled with items I have bought in the past (including cat toys/treats and charging cables). I checked and Pure Phase is listed as in stock and shipping right away so it was not like it was out of stock.

Very disappointing. Not sure if it was just the specific item or a policy shift,, but something to watch
In the US you can usually get their Customer Service on the phone or in a chat box and though they are not as customer friendly as they used to be, they usually do a good job of fix my issue.

if nothing else, you can return it and purchase a new one at the same time knowing you’ll be refunded once Amazon receives the item back.

The Oh Boy mailing list just sent this out. I'm guessing those bandcamp numbers might not be correct? Grabbed from there either way since I like having the high res downloads. Still available on his site if bandcamp runs out:

There is also going to be a green indie exclusive as you said. Should be up for preorder at your locals.

"John Prine's Grammy Award-winning album Fair & Square will be available October 1st as a double LP for the first time on vinyl in sixteen years. This is a new pressing (with a new lacquer - it sounds amazing) pressed in Detroit at the Third Man Records Vinyl Pressing Plant.

Exclusively on the John Prine and Oh Boy Records store, the "Irish Edition" 180 gram double LP will feature green and orange vinyl and an exclusive matte jacket with embossed text on the front cover."

Email noted 3 versions. This Irish exclusive, an indie Green LP, and we can maybe assume Black.

Yeah I smashed order when I saw it was down to 53 left but it looks like Oh Boy is just slowly populating the number in Bandcamp. At any rate, I’m sure an exclusive color version will sell out relatively quick with other versions (thinking possibly the indie exclusive and maybe another color and a black) to come soon. They’ll keep it in print too I imagine.

I was gonna buy it anyway so may as well get the limited + high res download.

Huh. Today I learned John Prine has an Irish wife and owned a house 30 mins from where I grew up!

Great news about Fleck returning to bluegrass (can we get a Sturgill/Bela tour please). This album looks loaded with some impressive guests. Anything featuring Molly Tuttle gets my vote.

Yeah this is how it has been for me for months now. Maybe because I do a lot of returns? You can still call or chat with their CS and they will sent up a replacement for you if they still have the item in stock.
