Thats a good place to start then, currently working through new La Luz which is fun so far, nothings popping out as amazing just yet but it has a lovely 60's vibe to it so far. Kind of sounds a lot like that Female Species release from Numero Group earlier this year.
 
Anyone else disappointed with the new MMJ?
I mean it's better than their last couple of releases, but that's not hard to beat tbh. There's some good tracks on there but there's also some serious duds imho. Love, Love, Love might be the worst song they've ever written 🤷‍♂️

Can't say I was disappointed because I wasn't too invested going in, but it definitely didn't wow me that's for sure!

My Morning Jacket and Wilco are currently in the same spot for me. Their current albums are not bad and are still better than a lot of their contemporaries but their new releases don’t add or detract from their legacy. For me, the most exciting thing about either group releasing a new album is that it gives them a reason to tour. I will very rarely revisit any other the LPs they’ve released in the past decade.
