I have no idea what the Irish accent sounds like, so I would'nt be able to tell a bad impersonation from a good one/the real thing. Any good example in film or TV you could point me to?

The accents around the country are quite varied because outside of the cities it’s a very rural, sparsely populated, country. There generally aren’t that many good impersonations so it’s probably safer to say listen to actual Irish people speak.
 
But 2 of the 3 very Irish albums I found (public service broadcast is London based and bill ryder-jones is a solo project) are gloaming based

Okay, so it's for sure The Gloaming - probably 2, but technically I think 3 and their live album are still in the running.

Then I suppose we can't rule out the Caoimhin/Bartlett album, even though I think the "band/group" and "European music" clues make it a stretch
