Thurs 11 – Do bass players get laid?

Yes, Tina Weymouth again!

I'm going with The Talking Heads last album. Her intro on (Nothing but) Flowers is just killer.

I found this cool playlist on Spotify, very aptly titled:

And this article that mentions a couple of her influences:

And because why not, I'm playing one those influences:

Day 11 - Bass Players

As a drummer, some of my best friends over the years have been bass players. Or, some bass players have become my best friends. I guess that goes both ways.

Tony Levin is near the top of my list. (of bass players, not best friends)
I’ve seen him perform several times with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel and always love watching him play. He’s inventive, talented, and an excellent showman. He’s part of my favorite KC lineup with Fripp, Belew, and Bruford.

Day 11: Do bass players get laid?

Again, tough to choose just one, but I decided to go with Louis Johnson; one half of the Brothers Johnson and a session musician who played on a number of albums made in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s, including...

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall

He played on all but one song (“Rock With You”) on this album and later played the iconic bass line on “Billie Jean”.

Beck "Midnite Vultures".

It goes for a max of 410€. Most records I have in the top spots are records I've bought at the end of the 90s before actually starting to really collect vinyl in 2017.
Before streaming services existed, I've preferred mostly to have my music on CDs, so I could transfer it to a mp3 player that allowed me to listen to them while being outside.

SOPHIE - OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES

MostExpensive.JPG

I interpret this challenge as the most expensive 1xLP in my collection. While Madvillainy might be my most expensive item (for understandable reasons), SOPHIE's only album is my most expensive album on a single record (for the same understandable reasons).
Nearly two weeks later, I remain unable to process her being gone... 😭

Rest In Peace, SOPHIE ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍🖤

Day 11: Do bass players get laid?

I think so - I haven't gotten too far into the audiobook version of Remain In Love, but I assume there's some sex talk eventually.
