Wow just got the new Violent Femmes box and what a complete and utter disappointment for the studio album. I was under the impression Kevin Gray was cutting the whole box but it looks like it’s just the same current pressing that’s out there. https://www.discogs.com/release/29030092-Violent-Femmes-Violent-Femmes
I have an original pressing that slays. Always a great sounding record. This reissue sounds like it’s played with a blanket over everything. Nonexistent bass and the drums sound like cardboard.
Boom Booms initials are in the demos, live album and 45 and not the studio album. The demos and live album sound absolutely fantastic though! Not sure if they screwed up the studio album or what. I’ll just insert my OG in there for the time being ha!

I believe there is a KG cut of the studio album. A shame it wasn't included in the box set.

I can vouch that the Hot Buttered Soul small batch sounds amazing. So glad that they did this album in this format!
