Definitive Audiophile pressings

I’ll keep an eye out. Make sure you get the one with the right deadwax though! There are also weird hybrid ones that have the 43 on one side and the 33 on another
Yes I've seen those and someone here said theirs was very shrill. Which is not at all the experience I have with the normal 33453 pressing. So I'm not sure if they did something weird on those hybrid ones.

I have a UK original of WYWH that sounds good enough for me. Maybe a little surface noise in some quite parts, but overall I can't complain.

Looks like it's been a couple years since I spun it - I may need to get it out this weekend.

I'd gladly go for the original UK too but finding a NM or M one is next to impossible so I just didn't even bother.

I'm giving mine a spin right now. I'll double-check once it's done but think this is the deadwax I have:
  • Matrix / Runout (Side A, Runout - Var 1): GI HAL 43453-4E COLUMBIA NY B4
  • Matrix / Runout (Side B, Runout - Var 1): GI HBL 43453-5F COLUMBIA NY C1
Not at all shrill. Awesome soundstage and really dynamic sounding. I had luck finding mine on eBay maybe a year ago. They pop up on there somewhat frequently.

Side note... I am hereby employing all of you to look out for something for me. I've decided that I want the 1982 Half Speed CBS Mastersound "Wish You Were Here" as my final copy. If any of you see it anywhere, in NM or Mint, and you don't want it yourself... please tell me. I am prepared to spend... a lot.
Got you. 500 copies of Aja coming right up.

Well that's the 82 I think no? That's the "fixed" one.

I can appreciate your dedication to finding the very best pressing that is out there for this album. It's an incredible piece of work. Especially the closing Shine On VI through IX.

There was some demo version or alternate take from this album where I wanna say a violinist sat in for the recording. If you havent heard that, it might interest you. I think they released it along with those giant Floyd boxsets that came out a few years ago.

Edit: found it. It's WYWH

I received my order from Record City (Aja VIM 4039, Meddle Odeon OP-80375), but having a difficult time cataloging my Meddle, the runouts don’t exactly match any of the Discogs entries. Tried checking Pink Floyd Archives, can’t find it there either. As far as I can tell, the runouts are:

Side A: SHVL-795A 1S 2 @ 1L
Side B: SHVL-795B 1S 9 @

I emailed the guy who runs Pink Floyd Archives last night, attached the pics below, waiting for him to reply. I know you all are some smart people, any one here have any thoughts? Based on the wording on the text circling the labels, I’m certain it’s a first press, but it’s weird to me that these numbers just don’t match.

I haven't seen that before, I'm at work so I can't look right now but I will check that out shortly. Thanks!

Honestly. In their shoes I might have just waited that little bit longer until the Hoffman pricks worked themselves up to tears and trantrums, they’d only just about got up to the helium voice stage
This.

Exactly. I would have let it drag on a bit so those Hoffman assholes got themselves worked up to heart attack anger level. And let Fremer and Mike45 sink along with them.

I'd say it's just a variation that isn't listed , if everything else is the same on labels and cover than it's just another number or 2 added onto the end of the matrix .

grappelli is mostly better known as "that dude that used to play with django reinhart", the stuff they did with him is indeed on the immersion set

Yeah, I dont really know Grappelli's music well, or at all. I just remember hearing this after the Immersion boxsets came out. I also was given a Dave Grisman/Grapelli live record from my dad that I really enjoy on certain occasions (link below). Thanks about all I've heard from Grappelli.

Not exactly sure what the backstory is with Floyd, something along the lines of Grappelli was in the studio at the time working on a separate project and the band invited him to sit in on WYWH.

So the MoFi non-apology came after most of the bigger YouTube vinyl channels got tired of covering it and most said they were done discussing it.

Seemed like they planned to delay any response and waited for the vitrol to die down a bit.
they probably had to respond to all the lawsuits people on hoffman and facebook are supposedly filing first.
