Christian Music, Anyone?

I grew up listening to Christian rock in the 70's and 80's. Daniel Amos was one of my favorites, along with Jerusalem, Larry Norman, and Marty McCall and Fireworks. Alarma is one record that stuck with me all these years, and is still in my rotation.

JERUSALEM! 🤘

If anyone knows where I can get my hands on a copy the The Choir - Circle Slide, I'd appreciate a heads up. Its my new: White Whale.

i was lucky enough to grab one of these when they had the Kickstarter campaign. Just tried to see if I could find another, but no luck. These guys were one of my favorite bands back in the day, and one of the few Christian rock bands I still listen to. I just wish they’d re-release Chase the Kangaroo.

I'm disappointed that they (and the 77's) have started down the cover song road. At least the Sevens managed to cover Wilco & the Smoking Popes.

I tried revisiting the 77’s material recently (specifically Sticks & Stones), and it didn’t do much for me, sadly. I didn’t realize The Choir was headed down the “cover band” road. Disappointing, to say the least. I’ve kept up with them, purchased a few of their reissues, and even Derri’s solo album. But that 3 album run from Kanagaroo to Circle Slide still gives me the feels, and defies the “Christian rock” stigma of formulaic music.

On a side note, not sure if you are or were an Undercover fan, but they’re reissuing Balance of Power this year on Kickstarter.

Yeah - I passed on that one. I'm waiting for my Lost Dogs - Little Red Riding Hood to get delivered.

After that...I'm just waiting for the Scenic Routes Kickstarter to be announced.

Also trying to track down an Adam Again - Perfecta reissue - cause I missed out on that one too.

I forget....Lost Dogs was Mike Roe, Gene Eugene, Derri and Terry Taylor, right?
EDIT: I just read the Kickstarter page and answered my own question. That red splatter looks amazing, but is way too much $$

His death was rough. I spent a little time at The Green Room in the 90’s (I was good friends with Mike Knott’s manager), and Gene was the nicest guy. Same with Riki Michele and Dan Michaels.

Hmm...did you get to meet "John Barrymore, Jr." or "Jan the Weatherman" too? ;)

Lol, no, but he was a real guy, apparently. A neighbor of Mike's. So was Kitty, lol. All of the people in Mike's songs (and situations) were real. On the song Bad Check on Strip Cycle, where he sings about how he wrote a bad check to "this cello player, she didn't know it at the time cuz I'm singing it later", that really happened. Knott was a unique individual, that's for sure.

This one hits my nostalgia bone.

The mock ups of the 88 Vinyl options are below.
Also - the've actually put the Master Tapes up for sale on this too....if you have your own studio/way to play them.

I've thought about backing this for a while now, but they threw in so many extras that I just HAD to now! Ordered the Yellow/Red vinyl. Thanks!
