Day 9: 45 Friday

Play a 45 or a 45rpm record

Meet Your Maker: “Rapper’s Delight” by Sugarhill Gang b/w “Good Times” by Chic

A 45 released for RSDBF back in 2016, what was supposed to be the first in a series of classic hip-hop tracks backed with the songs they sampled, but it never went beyond this first single which is a real bummer.

I mean it's in the title. It's also the only way I'm aware of to get Sarah Jarosz' My Muse on vinyl without finding the stupidly difficult to locate copy of the album, and the only medium that her Bill Withers' cover is on at all beyond Youtube.

David Bowie - “Without You” 7”

At first took a photo with it spinning but decided to go with stationary so everyone could appreciate the Keith Haring cover art complimenting my Haring TTL cork slipmat. This was a flea market find for less a single $1. According to Discogs it’s worth a bit more than that (at the very least cover the cost of the other 15 7” I purchased that trip that are probably worth less than a buck).

Day 9: 45 Friday

Mastodon at 45 RPM is really good, but this album doesn't get too many spins as I just don't get into it as the others. It does have it's moments, though. I think I just need to add it to the rotation a bit more.
