I don't think I've ever heard any T Swift song all the way through - with the exception of the 1989 album covered by Ryan Adams and the first album she did with Aaron Dessner - I think it's called Folklore? All I remember about it is that I bought a lilac purple pressing as it's my fave color. I listened to it exactly once. I have also heard the duet she does with Matt Berninger on The National's "First Two Pages..." album, but it's easy to avoid as I can skip it on Spotify, and it's track 1 side 2 on the LP, so I start playing track 2.Man I remember the 90s. If you hated a song you were stuck leaving the tv and radio off until it ran its course.
Maybe I’m just good at tuning out things I don’t want to pay attention to…
That said, even though I have absolutely no interest in her music (or most pop music for that matter) it is impossible to avoid the media coverage of her. Yes, I roll my eyes when it's on tv or scroll past on twitter etc. I don't hate her, I don't think I truly hate her music, it's just that I am beyond ambivalent enough to even give it a listen.
It's very difficult to ignore the coverage of her: when Jack Antonoff got married last year, the wedding was on the Jersey Shore, and the swifties found out and swarmed the venue and pretty much shut down a few blocks. That shit is terrifying. I can't imagine being in the public eye like that.
