Incoming! The New Equipment Thread

Do you ever catch the dragon?
I’m feeling pretty settled now. However, I had an “ideal” system in my head in the 1990’s and I’ve parsed together the vintage gear to complete it now. Thiel speakers and Bryston pre/DAC/phono/amp stack.

Because I value the vintage nature of it, I’m likely to stick with it a long while - I’ve already owned a couple of components more than 15 years.

Gonna be twinsies with @kvetcha. I've been wanting to try an MC cart, and they accepted the offer I made on this which made it as if I got the table for free.

Just be prepared to go slightly insane before you settle into a rhythm with it.

Also, I highly recommend having a full set of allen wrenches handy, you’ll need a range of sizes (imperial) for the various adjustments.

Also also, keep your ear to the ground for a Cruise Control or a Pro-Ject Speed Box. Not having to mess with the pulley on this deck is a godsend.

Hope you don't mind if I hit you up if I run into trouble!

Of course! Also, beware the undamped cue lever. It works quite well, but it’s an entirely manual process and might catch you off guard if you’re accustomed to the typical set-it-and-forget-it variety.

It’s a weird-ass little table, but I’m fond of it.
I'm excited to mess around and learn more on it. I'd like to get a direct drive eventually and wasn't planning on another table any time soon, but it was a good deal and I figure even if I decide to not keep it, I won't be out much if any money and can enjoy seeing if it clicks for me. No tax and free shipping made it sweeter too.

The upgrade to my phono stage can wait.
