Vinyl Me Please Rap & Hip Hop

This copywriting seems a little lazy, like it came from a tween's book report

"The stencil for this one is really cool too: It’s the Knxwledge dog from some of his art. "
VMP have always been incredibly casual and lackadaisical in tone, even in official announcements and magazine articles. I've never seen the words "probably" "something sorta like that" "I dunno but maybe" so commonly used in 'journalism' before :p

Speaking of VMP journalism, I actually cant stand anything written by Crash Prez. It's all so vomit inducing pretentious to me. I know it's just his "style" but I'm not for it at all. I'm sure some people enjoy it

I really like this pick. I’m listening to it rn and it sounds like a good instrumental hip hop album to me (which I don’t have many of on vinyl). I do think VMP tries hard to make the “definitive” version of each reissue they do. I like the alternate cover color, the fact it’s on 180g vinyl and the vinyl color too. I know some of y’all don’t care but I love when they do tip-on jackets and this being a gatefold at that is a plus. I don’t know anybody else doing hip hop albums with tip-on jackets but VMP. The music is exactly the same as the standard but I def prefer this version. I also totally understand people not wanting a shiny version of an album that’s widely available for $7 less.

I asked Storf 2 questions on his reddit AMA

Chance's album pre-order seemed like it was for CD's only based on the price(maybe even an overpriced digital bundle to include FLAC versions i dunno). Maybe VMP is gonna do The Big Day for September and they let the cat out of the bag initially when they were listed on Chance Raps

I would be shocked if the Big Day isn't Septembers RHH pick. If they really did help him press the mixtapes they had to get this back in return

Why is this bullet point needed? To coax Anderson Paak fans into the album?

They make it seem like they spend so much time on every release, but it’s clear everything is sort of just haphazardly and last minute thrown together. A job at VMP seems like a piece of cake.

I was thinking this too. It's like if they did Jay Rock, they would just have to mention Kdot 🥴
