Do expansion packs and software updates get stored on the internal memory, or the game card?
I'm wondering if I should pick one up before buying the Zelda expansion pass.
My understanding is that the default is to always put any downloads on the SD card if you have one plugged in. Even if it is an update for a game you have installed on internal memory. Not an expert though! And I suppose that could have changed since I researched it.

I don't have a SD card currently. What I'm worried about is running out of space from just the updates and expansion packs for the games I already own on a game card. Will I hit a point where it won't allow game updates and expansion packs pretty soon if I do nothing.

Checking on mine and it looks like everything is stored on the SD card, which I assume just follows where the game is stored. I believe it would reason that once local storage maxes out, updates won’t install.

any DLC/updates to a game on switch gets added to the switch memory, not the game card if bought physically. so theoretically, yea your switch's memory slot can get filled up eventually just from games' DLC. but dlc in switch games doesn't usually rack up over 1-3gb. i still think getting a good sd card for a switch is ideal

Thanks,

And I just found where to check how much memory is being used. I'm almost full even though I bought everything via game cards.

Guess I need to get that sd card.

Got Burnout Paradise and was pretty disappointed with it. Did not scratch my itch for Burnout 3 nostalgia much. Everything is super easy and super repetitive.

So, I dragged out my PS2 to play 3. I'd say the only thing that isn't better is the graphics. Man is it hard to see what's coming up at high speeds. Can't remember if that was always true or just the composite video>hdtv effect. I'll try some component cables and see if that helps.

Started playing MLB: The Show since it game to Game Pass. It’s crazy because it’s usually a PlayStation exclusive and it’s on Xbox for some reason. So far it’s pretty fun. I haven’t played a baseball video game since All Star Baseball 2004 on PS2. Anyone else play The Show and have some tips for getting good at hitting? Pitching is fairly easy and fun, but reading different pitches and knowing when to swing is tough.

Couldn't figure out which new game I wanted to play (aside from the Big Lady Horror game my wife will make us play), so instead I'm continuing my summer tradition of playing Persona games in reverse order. I also secretly think the Vita is the best handheld out there. Persona 2 here I come.
