Movies

My wife and I started a rewatch/watch of the MCU films last night with Iron Man 1. We'd considered doing timeline order but she's only seen about five of them and wanted to do release order instead. I don't think it really matters one way or the other.

Ok...getting ready to watch this one.

It's actually getting great reviews.

9/10 at the site below...

The director - Steven Kostanski (The Void) is also the guest on the new Movie Crypt Podcast that was released tonight for Patreons - public version goes live on Monday I think.

I give it an 8 out of 10. It was good...not hilariously funny, or really scary. The practical effects were nice to see instead of an overuse of CGI, and there is a lot of blood effects. Even though it's not rated this is still a hard R for all the gore.

Got around to watching A Star is Born. Really good. Both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper give great performances.
I keep meaning to watch this, but then I think back to that oscar performance they did and decide on something else haha. But this might be the nudge I need to finally cross it off my watchlist.

I was the same way. I had it on a watchlist for a while and always had something else I wanted to watch more. Couldn’t think what I wanted to see today so settled on it. Glad I made that choice. Shouldn’t have been a back burner - really enjoyed it.

I kinda want to see it, because it looks kitschy and silly in a good way... but I also absolutely hate gore. So I think I'll skip it. It's enough that I know it exists.

I gave it a 7...it was a lot of fun, but I think I set my expectations a little too high. Well worth a watch, of course.

Which ones are you checking out? I was thinking of doing Night of the Kings since I missed that one this year.
CODA
Cryptozoo
John and the Hole
On the Count of Three
Passing
How It Ends
Together Together
Prisoners of the Ghostland
El Planeta
First Date

I definitely recommend Night of the Kings. I have to think Neon is going to be releasing that sometime soon, if you don't catch it at Sundance.

There's also this going on right now thru a theater in California that gives you access to 31 International Oscar submissions from now thru Feb 11th for $75 (or $12 each)... FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION 2021
