Phono Cartridges - Your favorites and least favorites?

The Hana is a fine cartridge; well made, great measurements (both in terms of what comes out of it and what it needs going in) and it won't ever be a disappointment. If you can accomodate the Van den Hul though, it- and I appreciate the utter uselessness of this line- just does music better. Nearly four years after it turned up, it still has the ability to make me stop what I'm doing and pay attention to it in a way that very little else does.
Very insightful! Once the time comes I'll give the VDH some reading and see if my gear would be accommodating. I'll actually probably look into well before it's time, because I get curious. But no moves happening quickly for now. Plenty of life going on and records to spin in the mean time.

How does it work out in terms of retipping/trade in cost if you’re a lunatic that spins enough to need a new one yearly?

In Yurp, we can send it back to Van den Hul for a full rebuild fairly easily- it comes back as new. Prices aren't outrageous either. Obviously, this applies to the rest of the world too, it just takes longer.

Nice! I’ll keep that in mind for the future! I have a feeling that it’d both not play ball with, and be wildly extravagant for, my humble little table!

The Frog is available on CanuckAudiomart right now, 100 hours on it. $1950 CAD. Someone please tell me it won't work on my rig.

It'll work but it's realistically going to be overkill. Even if we take a high percentage cart/table ratio such as Rega, it still burns through that by a factor of about 300%.

So the answer is to buy an RPM 10 and the Frog. Sorted.

Ed, I just want you to know you're my favorite high end audio and soup blog on the internet.

Alas, it’s too compliant for my arm. I’m safe. 😎
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or it actually won't work. If it won't work, why not?

How do you know if you have s low or high mass tonearm and what compliance
