I don't need any help in doing things like this sir, stop stirring the pot, lol....................in answer to your question, yes I have.
To be fair at least this is a gear reducing, rather than accumulating, suggestion

This was my exact list when I bought my Marantz PM8006. I went with the Marantz because I heard my speakers with them and like the sound and knew what I was getting. I really like the Marantz PM8006 a lot. I fully co-sign it, and I got it off Safe + Sound as a refurb also with no issues.Currently on my short list to research:
Rogue Audio Sphinx v3
Yamaha S-A801
Marantz PM8006
I love the PM8006 and I fully endorse it as well! This was my exact list when I bought my Marantz PM8006. Will admit I never had a chance to hear the Rogue Sphinx.
It's Schiit! What are people’s thought on Schiit gear around here? Specifically looking at Freya Plus and Aegir combo. Hard to beat the price, but would like to get thoughts from this group.
I had the Saga for about a year or so. It was a nice bang for the buck piece, but I'd only recommend it if you were limited to <$500, which I'd say is a compliment given it was $350. I'm also interested in trying out the Aegir someday. What are people’s thought on Schiit gear around here? Specifically looking at Freya Plus and Aegir combo. Pretty well regarded, especially in the price range. No-nonsense, great build quality. What are people’s thought on Schiit gear around here? Specifically looking at Freya Plus and Aegir combo. Hard to beat the price, but would like to get thoughts from this group.
I like my Schiit. I never tried the pieces you mentioned, but they should be fine. What are people’s thought on Schiit gear around here? Specifically looking at Freya Plus and Aegir combo. Hard to beat the price, but would like to get thoughts from this group.
The Freya gives me an entry into tubes in a price range I can afford by a company that seems to have good reviews.I like my Schiit. I never tried the pieces you mentioned, but they should be fine.
I'm a bit curious about the Freya. I see the Oppo has a pre-amp built in. Are there any particular features you're hoping to gain from the Freya, or are you looking for an improvement in sound quality? If you just want more inputs, have you considered adding an input selector to the Oppo?
tell Jason to join this forum !What I have found most difficult during this pandemic, is the fact that most local audio shops have been closed temporarily or permanently, making shopping for new equipment virtually impossible (no pun intended). Luckily, I have my friend Jason, the owner of Sound & SIght, who has come through for me on many occasions but even then he doesn't have a demo of everything, as he doesn't have a proper store yet, which means you don't always get to audition the gear before you buy it.
Yeah I read that article.Discogs did a whole "how to hifi at any price range"
Every turntable was a project, from a essentials to a X2. And it includes everything from integrated amp and speakers
Well that didn't help since I don't need speakers or a big integrated amp, and I already got a headphone amp and maybe preamp. I just wanted to know for the budget the best turntable and cartridge in the 1000-1500 range
There are a lot of good options and I’m not sure there is a Best choice.Discogs did a whole "how to hifi at any price range"

Best is regarded as subjective. There are a lot of good options and I’m not sure there is a Best choice.
That price point is likely the most popular, thus the most competitive, thus the one with the most right answers.Discogs did a whole "how to hifi at any price range"
