Did someone mention Joe Torres- Latino con Soul ? I’ve never heard it but it seems like that could work, though I’m not sure where it was recorded. Looks like it was on the World Pacific imprint of Blue Note so probably was recorded in California and not at Englewood Cliffs.

I'm thinking this isn't it, but when I think Latin Jazz I think Tito Puente. I know he was born in New York and not in Latin America, but I'd guess that he recorded most of his stuff somewhere near NYC so maybe that fits.
