I’ve recently spent all my retirement money on records so I think I actually won’t get it, as I can’t be an audiophile freak now! 🔓🤷‍♂️

I did get a nice Acoustic Sounds package just then though! I’m gonna unwrap it and post it in the Fresh Grabs! You’ll love it Mather! ⚱️

So yeah, that’s it for Baby Monster! No more One-Step releases unless it’s Marvin Gaye’s I Want You, Stevie Wonder’s Innervisions, Joni Mitchell’s Blue, Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain, John Lennon’s Plastic Ono or Imagine, or Sly & The Family Stone’s Fresh! 😍

Like I think I’m only going to drop AUD$250+ on an album that I really love, like the ones I listed above, as opposed to the upcoming ones! If I had more money, I might of thought about it, but no chance now! 😅

Earlier today I tried to use that ebay code to grab one but it didn't work on my account so I didn't complete that order. I had figured if I ended up with two T Rex would be an easy one to offload.

I preordered from deep discount over the weekend. I have a similar issue importing to the UK, but they have cheap shipping include charges upfront. They also have 10% off with DEEP10 at the minute. It worked out much cheaper than buying from any UK seller. Probably still won’t work for you but maybe worth a look.

Thanks actually that would work but it's only quoting $5.75 for shipping..I cannot imagine that will be the actual amount. It's usually about $28.00, then there's the inevitable duty charges. So I could, but I'm afeart.

I'd try again, it shows $28 VAT/GST for me.

I find it strange that Somethin' Else would be slated for One-Step treatment given the AP 45RPM for $50 less. How is one going to be better than the other? Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions. But, if I was MoFi, I would steer clear from things that have already been reissued by AP recently.

Except that they've done two SRV titles, which are recent APs as well

Likely a different mastering and the One Step process is different from AP as well. Hell, MoFi even did OneSteps of previous releases that they did for regular MoFi and they sound better by most accounts (Blood on the Tracks comes to mind).

I have the AP of Somethin Else and I may still buy the One Step and sell my AP copy if it sounds better...

In my experience, many audiophiles that titles at these prices are targeted to are happy to buy different pressings of the same album over and over and over again.

Yea--I'll do that with albums sometimes if I KNOW it can sound better and then I sell the older copy. Somethin Else might not be able to sound much better than the AP pressing but I would be tempted by the One Step for sure...in any case, I have two copies of very few albums and I typically sell the one I like less.
 
Trying to decide where I want to order the Mingus One-Step from - anyone have insight on how Elusive Disc ships? Good packaging? Never ordered from there.

I ordered mine from music direct. I feel like I have ordered from Elusive Disc before but can’t entirely remember what the packaging was like...

Sold out there. Pretty much just Elusive Disc or Deep Discount/PopMarket at this point. Feel like ED might be the best choice.

Yea-- @bobomac2 it's not sold out there. It's just on "pre-order". I believe you would still get it if you order from AS. The latest batch of One Steps were just sold and AS has been getting them but a little behind schedule from MD. My Electric Warrior MoFi was just shipped through them. I was worried since they were shipping from everywhere else first but AS assured me that they would be getting Electric Warrior in stock and sure enough, they did. I'd say AS or Elusive Disc might be okay but someone else may be able to weigh in.
