A Simple Twist Of Fate - The Bob Dylan Thread

yeah I have the basement tapes there too but I kind of consider the bootleg series to be a seperate series so they go 1-15 (with several gaps) after the studio albums .
The original Basement Tapes is in the canon (i.e. albums release contemporaneously) and gets slotted between Blood On The Tracks and Desire. The Bootleg Series entries are archival and go at the end, after the main canon and compilations.

Bootleg series are released in between his new albums just the same as the basement tapes ..so that’s my method ...each to their own I guess!

Newman is a next level organiser! Although that said that’s how my old iPod used to do it.
I mean my understanding of those sessions is that Dylan came by and joined in. Maybe it should be in The Band section? (Lol - I’m keeping it right where it’s at).

this level of library organization is primarily a result of my Jazz section. Leader is where it is but there are so many co-leader albums. I don’t think any two of the Cuba Jam Sessions box records are in the same part of the alphabet.

I have Basement Tapes after the Bootleg series as it is attributed to Dylan and the Band.
While Before The Flood and The Basement Tapes are co-credited to Dylan and the Band, no part of me actually thinks of them as albums by The Band. And thats acknowledging at least a side's worth of material on each is solely The Band

So, what about the real bootlegs, like:
or

Would you just go with the approximate date of issue and fit it in there?

Don’t have any boots. Lol. The prince boots I have are where they would've been released in my cds.

Can we all agree Bob Dylan is filed under D.

Defo not B .

I once wondered round Andy’s records shop for an hour trying to find Neil Young ....they filed everything by first name

I miss Andy’s records, the one that used to be in the town I grew up in was miles ahead of hmv for depth of stock and sound staff with knowledge. Agree on surname filing though, we’re not animals....

I’ll never intentionally own any boot ever so thankfully not an issue. If I did they’d be a third section behind the official “bootleg” series.

I have some Hendrix grey market/boots I inherited from my Dad and they are at the end of his section after the official releases.

I have one Dylan boot that I didn't know was a boot when I bought it. A pretty decently recorded live show from I think late '61. I would file it before the self-titled if I didn't just have the mono box.

I had thought that mofi had done mono 45 of all the first 8 albums. I was wrong, I was sure there was a mono of the 3LP blonde on blonde but I can’t find it anywhere...

Good job the 2010 MOV mono pressing is pretty damn fine!
Yea it seems only 7 of the first 8 are in Mono on MoFi. I’m glad I got the mono box though for most of those. I might double dip on the MoFi Blonde on Blonde...but I feel good with those monos being my main copies of those albums.

Yeah I’d already bought MOVs and Sundazed and MoFi’s for them all on mono before the deal on that box emerged. Happy with them all but the MOVs are a fair bit better than the Sundazed and the two MoFi ones are exceptional.

I put a WTB on the Hoffman forums and got a NM disc/VG++ sleeve within a few weeks for $100 shipped. I saw a NM one sell there very quickly for $120 as well.

The Discogs/eBay prices are nuts. Part of me thinks $100 was nuts, but after listening to it, I'm pleased
Weird question, but where do you put a WTB thread on Hoffman? The Third Party Sales thread?
