Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

What are the odds of the Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, or John Lee Hooker VMP pressings being available in swaps tomorrow?

Seems like the only things available are records I have absolutely no interest in, or are from artists I've never heard of.

Al Green and John Lee Hooker are probably zero, I imagine they’d give people a heads up like last time if they repressed those titles. Might be a couple Otis’ left over from a mysterious lost warehouse box as for Aretha I know it’s been dangerously close to selling out the past couple months. Think there were less then 50 copies remaining in June, so who knows?

I have been longing for a reissue of this for quite some time now.
 
@agutierrezb posted over on the Jazz Thread about rumours that the Palo Alto Thelonious Monk has been delayed. I have just sleuthed through the Steve Hoffman forum and there's reports that its been delayed indefinitely. I really hope this is incorrect, although Universal Music has confirmed there is a delay and the teaser track has been removed from a few streaming sites......

Edit: Amazon pre-orders have had a status change to 'unavailable'.
Edit: Jean Claude from 'If Music' has confirmed its delay and that he hasn't been given a new date yet.
Edit: Jean Claude suspects it could be a licencing issue over manufacture issue.

Omg, I really hope it’s just delayed and that the Thelonius Monk does get released later this year or at least next year! 🤞

Nope. Just another swap day. There will probably be one or two things people might not expect but there have been no hints and VMP seems to be against the HUGE surprises things lately since it has caused them more trouble than its worth.

Actually, just between us vinyl nerds (don’t post this on Reddit), I think there’s going to be around 150-200 copies of Whitney Houston’s Boxset in the Swaptions!!! 🚨🚨🤫

I’ve been monitoring the stock levels on that Whitney Houston Boxset and it was around 250 copies not long ago, and all of the sudden it dropped to only 32 copies! Everyday I did a quick stock check, and around 10 copies moved everyday! I was planning to use my 10% coupon on it + any exclusives that drop this Wednesday, but hopefully I can pick it up in the Swaptions! 💎🎁

Just no one buy the Whitney Houston Boxset because it could be in Swaptions, like with those stock level and then only 32 being left, I’m sure they put around 200 in there! 💰🦍💨🎁

Also, keep it on the down-low! I’m going to be on my laptop 20 minutes in advance ready to get onto the Swaptions ASAP!!! ⏰

The secret is always eating food you want to eat, like you gotta make the effort to eat delicious food! And the other secret is to be a lazy bum and live with your parents and have no responsibilities and work part-time, so you can sleep in, listen to vinyl a lot and play Mario Kart with friends late at night! 🤫🙈😂

Easy. They ship 50 copies to the four customer who actually bought the box and it's done!
 
Seems like 3 very solid choices this month, . I really dig the Bar-Kays album but I actually like the Cold Blooded Sclusie a little more I may hold off and see if they do a bundle . I'm trying to get into the BVSC album, but it hasn't blown me away aside from a few songs. I'm sure it will sound exceptional on vinyl though. Lord Finesse is also very solid, Especially after the roller coaster of emotions the RHH sub had this month but I think it may stick around for a little while. Looking forward to see what's in swaps at the moment I could be all in or swap all 3 depending on what shows up.

I haven't really been following, but last I checked in a week or two ago the RHH speculation was pretty solid on it being ODB. So looks like that's changed - is that the roller coaster you speak of, or is there more to the story?
